Notodden - Haugesund
At the end of the main road in Notodden there is a cross, with road signs pointing in different directions. You can turn left onto Lisleheradveien and drive 19 km north-east to Bolkesjø and Helleberg, where Hellebou is located. Or you can turn right, onto E134 and drive 345 km west to the city of Haugesund. Along with many of Notoddens inhabitants, we have often been tempted to to choose the second route.
On August 21, 2013, after picking up a 1992 Reanult Traffic * from Svartlamon in Trondheim, we arrived in the center of Notodden. 19 hours later we crossed the border to Haugesund. After exploring the city for a few hours, the car engine broke down.
The trip took place in 2013 and the drivers were Ellen Henriette Suhrke and Johanne Birkeland.
